What Chorby solves
Chore apps that feel too complicated
If your real problem is “who empties the dishwasher,” you don’t need a suite you’ll abandon by week two. Chorby is chore-chart-first: list, optional photo proof, approve — guided setup, not a weekend project.
The problem
A lot of “family” apps pile on calendars, goals, behavior scores, banking, and half a dozen screens before anyone has a chore assigned. Setup takes forever. Kids bounce off the UI. Parents quit.
Competitor feedback keeps repeating the same pain: too many features, unclear where to start, kids won’t use it. Complexity becomes another chore for the adult who already has enough.
If you only need a chart kids will open, a heavy dashboard is the wrong product.
What Chorby does
Chorby does one job:
- Assign chores (guided setup walks you through it).
- Kids mark them done. Turn on optional photo proof for the tasks that need it.
- You approve when you asked to. Allowance or rewards follow if you want them.
Money Plan / Bank in Chorby is bookkeeping — balances and plans you track — not a bank account or debit card stack. Optional photo proof and parent review are included with parent access, not a later unlock to make the chart work.
For how that compares to heavier suites, see our plain vs pages: vs Homey, vs S’mores Up, vs Joon, vs Allowance Bot. Product starting points: chore chart, chore list.
Who this is for
Parents who tried a big family app and bounced, or who never wanted one. Households that want chores plus optional allowance/rewards without learning a giant toolkit.
Honest limit
Chorby is available on the App Store and Google Play. Parent access requires a subscription or trial. Start with a few tasks; reminders still work best when the family agrees on the plan.
