What Chorby solves

Optional photo proof shouldn’t be an upsell

Some chore apps treat “show me the bed” as a Premium upgrade. In Chorby, optional photo proof and parent approval are included with parent access. Turn them on per task — they are not a bolt-on you need before the chart works.

The problem

Optional photo proof is what parents often want after the first week of unchecked checkmarks. Apps that sell a free chart and then lock proof or approvals behind a subscription leave you with the same trust problem you started with — just with more screens.

If approvals are gated, you’re still nagging and inspecting by hand until you pay. That’s a common low-star theme: the feature that would make the chart useful sits behind the paywall.

What Chorby does

When you turn optional photo proof on for a task:

  • Kid completes the chore and adds a photo.
  • You see it in approvals.
  • Approve → credit (allowance, Cash, Gems, or no reward — your call). Reject → they redo it.

That path is there when you want it. Other tasks can finish without a photo. Hub views and shared-device setups sit on the same idea — see Chorby Hub. Wider chart and rewards context: chore chart, rewards, allowance.

Plain comparisons where proof and “suite vs chart” show up differently: vs S’mores Up, vs Homey, vs Joon, vs Allowance Bot.

Who this is for

Parents who won’t run a chore system without seeing the work, and who don’t want proof treated like an upsell.

Honest limit

A photo can still be staged. You know your kids; reject what doesn’t look right. Proof helps visual jobs — it isn’t a substitute for teaching younger kids the standard.
